The desire to make the world better is an age-old heroic impulse. Acting on this impulse takes one to profound places of self-knowledge and personal meaning.

Most change agents who begin this journey operate out of pure impulse with only their intuition to guide them. If their will is strong they persevere through the inevitable early discouragement, but often lower their expectation. Some begin resenting the people and culture in which they are trying to bring about change when they encounter resistance. And some give up and act without conviction. This doesn’t have to be the experience of facilitating change. It can be done successfully and elegantly. What is most often missing is the knowledge of how to design and facilitate a transformative change strategy.

In this training you will acquire the strategies of transformative change, the leadership skills to implement them, and fire for the soul to inspire your effort. You will learn the craft of transformative leadership.

The training is based on David Gershon’s three decades of designing innovative strategic initiatives for transformative change in a multitude of environments. He has successfully used these strategies to mobilize millions of people and heads-of-state around issues of peace-building, helped Fortune 500 companies design behavior change and cultural transformation initiatives, cities engage their citizens around environmental issues, and social entrepreneurs develop transformative social innovations. His award-winning book, Social Change 2.0: A Blueprint for Reinventing our World has become the go-to resource for transformative social change. He is also considered a master trainer in facilitating personal development. The knowledge you will acquire in this training is proven and with proper implementation can produce transformative change at the individual, organizational, community, and societal levels.


It is divided into three skill development areas: vision, strategy, and leadership.

Vision

This is the catalyst to transformation — a description of a better way. You will learn how to: cultivate your imagination to develop an innovative, empowering and bold vision that deeply inspires you and others, refine this vision based on careful interpretation of feedback, and communicate it in a manner that motivates people to take action.

Strategy

This is the means of transformation. You will learn how to: work skillfully with transformative change at three levels — individual, group, and systemic; learn the Empowerment Framework for behavior change; design and implement a five-part strategy for transformative change, and build cooperation among those necessary to move your initiative forward.

Leadership

This is how the transformation will occur.  You will learn how to: help people overcome their resistance to change, create a culture that empowers people to learn and grow, and inspire people to achieve their very best efforts.

By the end of the training you will have the knowledge to effect transformative change at any level in an organization or community.
